The Georgia Grown Trail Comes to Appling County!

The Georgia Grown Trail Hwy 1 Association was created for the promotion, preservation, and development of regional AGRITOURISM along U.S. Highway #1. Appling County citizens and businesses have a great opportunity to grow awareness and their bottom line... Join the Movement.

What exactly is AGRITOURISM?

Agritourism as it is defined most broadly, involves any agriculturally based operation or activity that brings visitors to a farm, ranch or retail location. Agritourism can include a wide variety of activities, including buying produce direct from a farm stand or u-pick fields, navigating a corn maze, slopping hogs, picking fruit, feeding animals, visiting wineries, farm to table restaurants, georgia grown nurseries, stores that provide local produce, jam's, honey, etc.

Each stop on The Georgia Grown Trail is designed to provide tourists with an authentic and unique experience. The trail begins in Richmond County and winds through eight counties ending in Charlton County. Local businesses will have the opportunity to purchase AD space on the brochure, which in turn will give tourists a chance to broaden their experience to include dining in local restaurants, overnight accommodations and retail shopping.
